Overview

The Center of Excellence in Software Development Training (CoE–SDTC) at CSMSS College of Engineering, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, is established with the objective of enhancing students’ employability, innovation, and technical competence in the field of software engineering. The Center aims to equip students with practical, job-oriented skills through intensive training programs covering modern software technologies, tools, and frameworks. By integrating academic learning with hands-on project development and industry practices, the CoE nurtures industry-ready professionals capable of developing robust, scalable, and innovative software solutions.

Through continuous learning initiatives, collaborative projects, and mentorship from academia and industry, the Center promotes a culture of experiential learning, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Many students trained under the Center have successfully achieved placements in reputed organizations and have also ventured into startups and product development. The CoE-SDTC continues to work toward building a sustainable ecosystem that connects students, faculty, and industry experts, fostering excellence in software development, research, and innovation.

Mission

Objectives and Major Focus Areas

  1. To conduct job-oriented training programs that enhance students’ technical proficiency and prepare them for careers in software development and related IT domains.
  2. To develop and deploy real-time software projects that integrate theoretical concepts with practical implementation using contemporary tools and platforms.
  3. To enhance employability and placement readiness by strengthening problem-solving abilities, coding skills, and technical interview preparation.
  4. To foster innovation and entrepreneurship among students through project-based learning, incubation support, and startup mentoring.
  5. To collaborate with industry partners, research organizations, and experts for knowledge exchange, mentorship, and technology transfer.
  6. To promote continuous learning and upskilling in emerging areas such as software engineering, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and cloud technologies.
  7. To build a culture of teamwork, creativity, and innovation through workshops, hackathons, competitions, and collaborative projects.

Key Activities / Achievements

  1. Successfully completed training modules on JDBC, Servlets, and JSP by Feb 2024.
  2. Ongoing training: Hibernate (150 hours) and Spring Boot (210 hours).
  3. Training sessions resulted in: For A. Y. 2024-25 Batch 08 students placed in reputed software companies, 04 student startups registered under MSME ; and A. Y. 2018-19 Batch 09 students placed in reputed software companies.
  4. Student participated in national level hackathons and competitions and developing institutional software utilities and academic automation tools.
  5. Organized hands-on workshops and technical mentoring sessions on enterprise application development.
  6. Supported project-based learning through mini-projects and capstone projects.

Infrastructure and Facilities Available:

Dedicated Software Development Laboratory equipped with

  1. 20+ high-configuration systems (i5/i7).
  2. IDEs and open-source development tools (Eclipse, IntelliJ, Netbeans, PyCharm).
  3. High-speed LAN and Internet connectivity
  4. Local Git and deployment environment for real-time projects
Access to cloud-based development environments (AWS Educate, GitHub Student Pack, etc.).

Collaborations / MoUs / Industry Linkages:

  1. Industry Mentorship: Collaborations with software professionals for real-world project guidance.
  2. MSME Startups: Supported student startup registration and incubation under MSME schemes.
  3. Placement Linkages: Established coordination with local IT companies and training partners.
